10 WAYS TO SPICE UP YOUR HOME OFFICE SET UP
When it comes to your office chair, comfort is key. This is something worth investing in. It doesn’t have to be a conventional office chair, it could be something more fancy. I’ve recently discovered Six The Residence who do great quality furniture such as this Bouclé & Walnut Armchair above.
If your area is looking a bit lifeless and flat, start by adding a plant. With so many options available, shop locally or order online at Patch Plants and Trouva have a great selection.
Treat yourself you a new candle. When the candle has burnt out, wash it out and use it as a pen pot. Or, buy wax and wicks and learn to re-fill your own. It is very easy and cheap. For lovely branded candles I love Oliver Bonas, Evermore and Boy Smells.
4. Refresh your Zoom backdrop. Could the wall behind you do with a bit of art? Great affordable posters can be picked up at Postery. Modern quirky prints can be bought at Will’s Art Warehouse or The Print Club. Hotel Magique have done great collaborations recently.
5. Reassess your lighting. Does your bright ceiling light make you wince in the morning? Or are you straining your eyes when it comes to the evening? Work out your pain point then invest in good lighting. I personally steer clear of traditional desk lights, I prefer quirky lamps or floor lights.
6. Invest in some desk accessories to brighten your desk but also contain some of your mess. You will be surprised how such a small item can lift you mood.
7. Make it personal and frame photos for your desk. I love frames from Graham and Green, Addison Ross and The White Company.
8. New stationery does wonders. I love notebooks from Cambridge Imprint and Papier.
9. The beauty of working form home is that you don’t have to play music through your headphones. Try Roberts Radio, Sonos and Lexon for some great options.
10. Pinboards are great for collecting your invitations, photos and bits of paper that you don’t want to lose. Graham and Green, The White Company and Garden Trading do some of my favourites.
